Hawaiian Sea Salt Infused with Lilikoi

Thanks to a wide variety of fruit trees in her backyard, Salty Wahine’s founder, Laura, was able to get creative with infusing at a very young age. She used her out of the box creativity to mix and match flavors to come up with many great seasonings and blends, such as our Passion Fruit Chili Pepper! It was originally inspired by her sister, Lori (previous owner of Aunty Lilikoi), but because it was so good, when Laura started Salty Wahine in 2008, she knew it had to be a featured blend in her line of seasonings and blends.

Flavor Profile

A blend of Hawaiian sea salt, chili pepper, annatto, natural passion fruit and a splash of vinegar, the Passion Fruit Chili Pepper will offer a sweet and tangy taste for every dish, ending each bite with a subtle kick. The passion fruit-infused salt crystals will immediately transport you back to the breezy beaches of the Hawaiian Islands. The lilikoi blends beautifully with the chili pepper for a tropical zing that will have you coming back for seconds every time.

Best Uses

The Passion Fruit Chili Pepper is a medium-heat, fruit-infused seasoning that can be used in a variety of ways. Some of our favorite dishes in which we use this gourmet Hawaiian sea salt blend include:

  • Marlin Salad

If you are looking for a refreshing summer salad with a little kick to it, look no further than our scrumptious marlin salad recipe. Chop up marlin, or your favorite fish, sprinkle it with the Passion Fruit Chili Pepper, and coat with Maui Onion Dressing before searing it on the grill. Once cooked, toss the chopped fish on top of a bed of mixed leafy greens for a tasty tropical salad. The best part? This recipe is versatile! Use any protein of choice—like chicken, shrimp, or tofu—as the vessel to carry the zesty seasoning into the dish. Read the full recipe here on our website.

  • Deviled Eggs

Spice up your classic deviled eggs garnished with the Passion Fruit Chili Pepper. If you want to add a little more tropical flavor, use Aunty Lilikoi’s Passion Fruit Mustard, or for an extra kick, her Wasabi Mustard, mixed with mayonnaise and boiled egg yolks for the filling. You will never make your deviled eggs the same again! So delicious you might say it’s “sinful”. Read the full recipe here on our website.

Plus, if you have family or friends who like adding a little mild heat to their meals, this exotic seasoning can make a great gift.
