Salty Wahine is the brainchild of Laura Christobal Andersland. Laura learned about the importance of Hawaiian Sea Salt from her grandmother, it’s uses, cultural significance and considerable health benefits. Dutchie,’ as her Hawaiian grandmother was known, was one of 14 siblings and Laura shared her passion for great food and traditional Hawaiian ingredients.

Laura’s family favorite, Hawaiian Rub Roasted Root Vegetables is an easy dish that makes a lovely presentation, and is as colorful as it is delicious!
Hawaiian Rub Roasted Root Vegetables
This recipe works well with any combination of vegetables, such as Brussel sprouts or sweet and white potatoes, or even just white potatoes.
6 to 8 Servings
3 to 4 lbs. multicolor potatoes, halved
1 1/2 to 2 lbs. multicolor carrots, sliced
1 to 2 medium zucchini, cut into wedges
1 large sweet onion, sliced
2 stalks celery, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil (4 Tablespoons)
3 Tablespoons Salty Wahini Hawaiian Rub
Preheat oven at 400°
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly. Place the seasoned vegetables in a roasting pan or large cookie sheet and place on the middle rack. Bake for one hour, stirring at the 30-minute mark, spritzing with a little more oil and additional Hawaiian Rub to taste.
